Partners: I can't WAIT!

I tweeted about this show a while back and I'm seriously freaking out. It's like Will and Grace all over again except better because it's going to be centered around the relationship equivalent between Jack and Will. A straight guy and a gay guy as best friends.

Watch the fall preview below and have an excited meltdown like I did.

I love Sofia Bush, I've been waiting to see what Ugly Betty scene stealer Michael Urie would be up to and I'm sure this will be the break through part for David Krumholtz. Plus, Brandon Routh is hot.

MashUps #1: Michael Jackson vs Rihanna

I'm going to be doing  a MashUp series for the next week! Check back everyday for a post of my favourite MashUp!

I don't even know how Asher finds these things, but they're awesome. Check out his other mashup for  Somebody that I used to Know/Climax. I was equally impressed.

Killer Joe

Read up on the new McConaughey movie that you were not going to see tonight.

Matthew McConaughey has always been more than just an on-screen pretty boy. His versatility doesn't span as diversely as Johnny Depp, but he's branched into many film genres. Today two of his films are receiving wide release: Magic Mike where he plays a mentor to two young strippers and Killer Joe as a cop and secret hit man.

Although he's starred in a few cringe-worthy rom-coms McConaughey has starred in several serious law-dramas all of which were critically acclaimed. However Killer Joe will show a different side to the actor: psychotic and murderous (Texas Chainsaw doesn't count as a role, it counts as a filler between projects! I rest my case).

I'm not a horror fan, but I love suspense and I was staring into  McConaughey's crazy eyes during the trailer. I'm really excited to see what he's going to pull out of his hat this time. As well he has a pretty good supporting cast including Emile Hirsch and the up and comer Juno Temple.

Watch the trailer below and let me know what you think!

Music: Must Watch Music Videos

Here's my list of Must Watch Music Videos

So unexpectedly trippy.

Nearly 10 minutes of awesome from Duran Duran's Girl Panic

Look up the explanation of how this was done. It's not what you're expecting.

I'm not a rap fan, but this is a hilarious and unique concept.

So 80s

My favourite in this entire list.

Viral in the literal sense.

Obsessed with Robyn since her comeback with Dancing On my Own. Not everyone can handle dancing alone in their music video...well, other than Janet Jackson. '

The song makes me cry, but the video makes me bawl.

Ending the list is an interactive video by one of my all time favourites: Arcade Fire. Enjoy!

Anna Karenina: Trailer

The trailer is finally here!

Jude Law is stripped of his handsome glory in being the dashing super-mega-hot-dude and is instead a balding husband pushed aside by his young wife for Aaron Johnson aka Count Vronsky. So exciting and quite scandalous.

Directed by one of my favourites Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement) and of course starring his muse Keira Knightley. I'm sure Wright will do Tolstoy good and bring colour, grande architecture and amazing wide shots to this film....like he does for every book-made-into-film. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Girly songs (MEN STAY AWAY)

Even some of my closest friends haven't seen my girly side. Below are some songs that I sing into hair brushes and that get me giggling and painting my nails.

1. One of the Boys
Not a Katy Perry fan, but I love this song.

2. Why Can't I
Come on, this song is in like, every chick flick. pppp

My Never ending Love for Ashlee Simpson Part 2: Music Guide

As promised from my first posting about Ashlee Simpson, here is my music guide. If you like Punk, Big Band, Radio Rock, Ska or really anything else you will love Ashlee. She's just that awesome.

----
Radio Rock
Her best known tunes are within the radio-friendly-rock genre. Little Miss Obsessive was one of her bigger singles from her third albums and featured Plain White T's front man Tom Higgenson

Dancing Alone

Little Miss Obsessive

Other stand out tracks
  • What I've become
  • Love Makes the World go round
  • Better Off
  • Pieces of Me
  • Coming back for more
  • In another life
  • Boyfriend
  • No Time for Tears
Punk
A bit of a stretch, but she does have some punk elements. Not very thrash but punk-esque.

Autobiography

Other stand out tracks

  • La La

Float
Slow, sad, melodic. It really put her to the test to not belt, but to sing a bit softer.

Other stand out tracks

  • Undiscovered
  • Unreachable
  • Catch me when I fall
  • Never dream alone

Grunge/Hard Rock
She  has an awesome voice for breathy-grungy songs. Yeah, she's no Kurt or Thom but she holds her own in her songs. Ashlee uses her powerful vocals (listen to I am Me) and belts it out. I've tried but I can never hit it the way she does.
 Kicking And Screaming

I am me

Other stand out tracks
  • Love for Me
  • Eyes Wide open
  • Surrender
  • Shadow
Ska/Dubstep/Grove
Some of these tracks are flirty and fun others are just songs you sing with your friends. One of the tracks in the list below the videos was actually featured in the film Freaky Friday and was one of her first released tracks!

Burnin' Up

Boys
Other stand out tracks
  • Just Let me Cry
  • Murder
  • L.O.V.E

Pop/Dance
Bittersweet World is categorized as a dance album and all of the songs on this list are actually from that CD.
Ragdoll

Other stand out tracks
  • Hot Stuff
  • Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)

Big Band/Swing
I bet you weren't expecting this genre. Ashlee was actually in Chicago on BROADWAY! She performed eight shows a week from November to February after Bitersweet World was released.

Follow you wherever you go

One more to check out!

Bye Tom!

Asher and I have a thing for making friends. She has an incredible knack for it and we especially hit it off with people from other countries.

Recently we bid farewell to Tom, who has given us many laughs at his own expense. We got him a great gift and as promised for my youtube watchers I have some extra photos from our day below the video.

The editing is shoddy, but I can't complain. It was free software.

So after Tom was gone....

This is 40: I can't wait.

I was internet stalking Jude Apatow and saw that his new movie This is 40 is going to be released this year.

In Knocked Up  that  bickering couple played by Paul Rudd and Judd Apatow's wife Leslie Mann stole  every scene they were in, whether together or apart.

Now they get their own sequel...complete with Apatow's daughters all grown up.

It's going to be released at the end of the year in December and I'm so impatient.

Dealing with the Heat: How to Guide

The weather in Toronto is killer. Tomorrow is supposedly going to be worse. As I sat under the direct breeze of my ceiling fan, wearing almost nothing I thought: Wouldn't my readers want to know how to cool down too? Especially if their workplace or home has no AC. Like me...then I discovered my tears of heat frustration aren't the only "cooling agents" out there. Just, play it cool.

Drink water The most important piece of advice I can give you is to drink a lot of water. Hydrating your body keeps your temperature lower thus less sweat.

Stay indoors or under shade between 10am-4pm The hottest part of the day should be spent out of the sun in a cool area so you don't overheat.

Eat your lunch in a shopping center Since I have no AC at my workplace, I've begun walking around the cool shopping centre down the street. It makes returning work bearable.

Don't use a fan unless you have an open window Don't blow hot air back around the room, it could even increase the chance of heat exhaustion. Do yourself a favour and crack open a window before cranking on the fan. *Tip* If you don't have a window, grab a bowl of ice and place it in front of your fan. Voila a makeshift AC!  (no matter what Zak says)

Wear a Headband Keep your hair out of your face! It makes your forehead even hotter. Plus wearing a headband slicks away all of the sweat that would drip on your face.

Spend less time in your car Cars are the worst heat incubators of the summer. Walk or ride your bike instead of sweating it out in your vehicle or worse, wasting gas on AC.

Block the sun Use shades or drapes in front of windows during the afternoon to prevent intense sunlight from pouring in.

Drink less alcohol and smoke less cigs They slow down your circulatory system and the regulation of your sweat gets wonky.

Mist! Keep a mist bottle in your desk drawer for those moments when you just need a cool touch.

Turn it off! Your computer and lights emit heat where you are. Turn off the lights and use natural light. Give your computer a rest and write your notes by hand and type them up later.

Think cool Play a game of mind over matter with yourself and think about long exodus' through frozen tundra and extended winters in a shack or whatever. Just don't think about the sweat pooling in your belly button. Gross.

Play these chilling songs to keep in the spirit of a cool summer

Ok, not too chilling, but it's Cool...how could I leave this out?
